Established boutique immigration law firm in Winnipeg concentrating in all facets of Canadian immigration law including business and investment visas, family reunification, study and work permits as well as litigation in federal court and the IRB tribunal.
David pivoted into the area of cyber security law and privacy data governance following the attainment of his Global Professional Master of Laws degree from the University of Toronto – Faculty of Law in November, 2020. The focus of the program was in the area of Innovation, Law and Technology. David decided to formally establish his new legal brand: Davis Cyber Law in April, 2021. Davis Cyber Law is focussed on providing legal advice to small and medium sized businesses in the areas of cybersecurity law and privacy law data governance. David has a particular interest and expertise in the area of warrantless searches of personal electronic devices at Canada borders. The intersection of immigration, criminal and privacy law is a topic that is both fascinating and constantly changing.
David is currently member at large with the National Privacy law Section and the Immigration and Citizenship Section of the CBA. He is also involved with the Legal Research, immigraiton law, technology law and criminal justice sections of the MBA. He is a past Chair of the Canada Chapter with AILA.
He is an avid sports enthusiast, married, father of 3 beautiful children and has two small dogs named Ohev and Dixie.
